Music at St. Luke’s

The St. Luke’s Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir of St. Luke's plays a vital role in the life of the Parish. The choir sings at the 10:00 Sung Eucharist September through May, for special feasts such as Christmas and Holy Week, and events such as Advent Lessons and Music and Candlemas Evensong. The choir is comprised of devoted volunteers occasionally supported by friends from the community. Through hard work, strong commitment, and many hours spent together, choir members experience what it means to be a part of a cooperative spirit, working together unselfishly to fulfill a common goal. The very real fun of singing in the choir is a direct result of the fellowship which thinking, listening, and singing together provide.

The Organ at St. Luke’s

In November of 2002, St. Luke's installed a new Allen Renaissance four-manual digital organ, the largest such instrument in Minnesota. It has a warm and varied character, and greatly enhances St. Luke's liturgical and musical life. Effective as a leader of congregational and choral singing, the organ is also exciting as a recital instrument, capable of presenting a wide variety of musical styles.

Wider Musical Outreach

St. Luke’s and its parishioners sponsor several musical programs every year. These include organ recitals, instrumental ensembles, and special choral services.
